PICTURESHOW

Wow, it's the middle of July - I can't believe how fast this summer is flying by!  I'm doing my best to keep up with blogging but I have also made peace with the fact that I haven't been able to keep to a regular schedule.  That's okay with me though - I'm enjoying blogging when I'm inspired to post something and I think I do better work that way, rather than posting just for the sake of posting.  I thought another iPhone app review would be a good idea for a new post, as there are a bunch of apps I've been wanting to tell you about for quite some time now.

PictureShow is an app available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and it was one of the first photo apps I downloaded (other than Instagram).  For the $1.99 cost of the app you get a ton of stuff - 45 preset styles, 23 frames, 10 light leaks, lens kit (single, quad, vertical quad, multiexposure and halfshot lenses), tilt shift, cropping ability and more!  The 45 preset styles are amazing for colour effects - just using those alone can make your photos really pop.  The nice thing is the app has a "randomizer" button so you can click that and the app will generate a random combination of style, frame and light leak for a really unique look. Or you can set the style, frame and light yourself if you prefer to select specific styles or frames.  Another nice feature is that if you find a combination of frame, style and light leak that you like, then you can save it as a custom style recipe in the app so you can use it again in the future.

Just to give you an idea of the kinds of effects you can get with the PictureShow app I thought I'd show some examples.  Here is the original copy of one of the photos I took on my trip to San Franscisco:

Here is the same photo edited with PictureShow:

Pretty cool, huh?  All these photo effects were generated with the PictureShow app.  This is just a very small sample of what the app can do - there are so many possibilities to play with!  If you are looking to jazz up your photos then I totally recommend you check out PictureShow.

I have more iPhone photo apps to share reviews of, so keep an eye out for more of these posts in the future!  Do you have any favourite iPhone photo apps?  Do you think PictureShow is an app you would purchase?  I'd love to hear your comments!  ▲

    1. Hi Heidi! Thanks for checking out my blog - I'm glad to meet you too! I agree - I mostly stick to Instagram, too. But I do like finding some different photo apps to play with for photos for my blog, and such. Thanks for dropping by! :)
